Delicious Karhi Pakorha Recipe|Pakistani/ Indian Recipe
Hello beautiful people, today I am going to share with you a delicious, world famous recipe from Indian/Pakistani cuisine, that is Karhi Pakorha and that too my simplified, easy-to-make yet more delicious version! So let's get started.
Ingredients for Karhi
- 250g yoghurt
- 3 tbsp gram flour/ besan
- 4 cups water
- 1 tsp salt/ to taste
- 1 tsp red chilli flakes/ red chilli powder or to taste
- 1/4th tsp turmeric
Cooking method for Karhi
Whisk the yoghurt well. Add 3 cups of water and mix.
Add one cup of water to the sifted gram flour and mix. Make sure there are no lumps in the mixture. |
Combine the gram flour mixture with the yoghurt. Add salt, red chilli, turmeric and mix.
Place the mixture on medium-high flame stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low, cover and let cook for 45 minutes stirring every 5 minutes so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
Ingredients for Pakorhas
- 1 cup gram flour/besan
- 1 medium sized onion chopped
- 1 medium sized potato chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp red chilli flakes
- A pinch of baking soda
- Water as needed
- Oil for frying
Cooking method for Pakorha
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Add water little by little until a thick mixture forms.
Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Add spoonful of prepared pakorha mixture. Do not overcrowd the pan. When the pakorhas turn golden brown on both sides, remove from heat.
Add the pakorhas to the Karhi.
Ingredients for Tarhka
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 6 dried whole red chillies
- 5 tbsp of oil
Cooking method for Tarhka
Heat the oil on medium-low flame, add cumin and whole red chillies. Fry for 1 minute. Pour this mixture over the prepared Karhi Pakhora. Karhi Pakorha is now ready to be served. Enjoy!
