How to Make Tomato Paste | Homemade Tomato Paste
Hello beautiful people, today we are going to share with you the recipe for homemade tomato paste. It is simple and requires few ingredients. You can store it in the fridge for upto 10 days or in the freezer for upto 2 months.
Ingredients for the recipe
- 1.5 kg tomatoes
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Wash the tomatoes well. Chop the tomatoes into small pieces.

Now put the tomatoes into the blender in batches and blend. We have to blend these tomatoes well to form a puree.

At this point, you can either strain the puree or use it as such in the next step. I prefer not to strain the puree. Now the puree is ready.

Transfer the puree to a pan.

Add salt and bay leaves. Mix well.

Now cook the puree on medium heat for 25 minutes, stirring after every 3 minutes so that the water level reduces and it becomes thicker.

After 25 minutes, water is reduced a lot and the puree is thickened. Now remove the bay leaves.

After removing the bay leaves, add cooking oil and continue cooking for another 25 minutes so that the water dries up completely. Keep stirring frequently to not to let it stick to the bottom of the pan if you are not using a non-stick one.

After 25 minutes, the water is dried up completely and a thick paste has been formed.

To check if the tomato paste is done, strike it with the spatula in the center of the pan, the paste will stay there. Now remove it from the heat. Let it cool down completely.

Now the tomato paste is cooled down completely.
