Cooking Method
Take oil in a cooking pot. Add chopped onions. Sauté the onions on medium heat until light golden brown in color. Once the onions turn light golden brown in color, add cumin seeds, ginger/garlic paste and sauté until fragrant. Then add chopped tomatoes, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, cumin powder, whole green chillies and coriander powder. Mix well and add water. After adding water, mix well again. Put the lid on and reduce the heat to medium low to cook the tomatoes.
Once the tomato masala is ready, add potatoes and mix. Stir fry the potatoes for 3 minutes then add chopped cabbage. After adding the cabbage, put the lid on and reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 6-8 minutes.
After 6-8 minutes, remove the lid and mix well. Put the lid back on after mixing and let the cabbage and potatoes cook for 10 more minutes. After 10 minutes of cooking, remove the lid and increase the heat to medium. Continue to cook while stirring frequently until the water released from the vegetable dries out completely.
