Spicy Masala Potatoes Recipe
Our spicy masala potatoes is one of my favorites of all time. This recipe is quick and easy yet delicious. There are few simple ingredients. So let's get started with our recipe.
Ingredients
- 500g potatoes, chopped
- 1 medium sized onion, chopped
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- Freshly chopped coriander, for garnish
- 1/4 cup water
Cooking Method
Take oil in a cooking pot. Add chopped onions. Sauté the onions on medium heat until golden brown in color. When the onions turn golden brown in color, add chopped tomatoes, cumin seeds, turmeric, salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander powder. Mix well and add water. Put the lid on and reduce the heat to medium low to cook the tomatoes for 4-6 minutes or until completely soft.
Once the tomatoes are cooked, add potatoes and mix well. Keep the heat medium at this point. Sauté the potatoes for 4-6 minutes. Put the lid back on and reduce the heat to low. Now cook the potatoes for 14-16 minutes or until soft.
Once the potatoes are cooked completely, add freshly chopped coriander. Mix well. Turn the heat off. Spicy masala potatoes is ready to be served.
